MAREF (Momentum Africa Real Estate Fund) received an API Award for Landlord of the Year, from the API (African Property Investments) Summit Virtual.  MAREF is the landlord for the prestigious commercial buildings SU Tower & 335 Place in Accra, Ghana and Mon Tresor Business Gateway in Mauritius that were developed by Eris Property Group.

The API Awards, which were established to recognise and promote excellence in Africa's rising real estate sector, were announced during the recently concluded API Summit Virtual. The awards are open to developers, professional teams, consultants, suppliers, and property owners involved in the African real estate industry. To ensure impartiality and objectivity, the awards are judged by a panel of 11 industry experts and thought leaders including Ilaria Benucci of CDC Group and Kevin Teeroovengadum - Real Estate Advisor - Mauritius.

Fund Manager of MAREF David Lashbrook commenting on this achievement said:" Winning the API Landlord of the Year award encapsulates what your typical landlord is trying to do, which is to provide honest, transparent service for their tenants. These awards placed special emphasis on how landlords were adapting to the Covid-19 pandemic whilst ensuring tenant retention and maintaining occupancy with innovative strategies, putting the needs of our clients first. During 2020, we are very pleased to have welcomed several prominent international tenants into our buildings including MODEC, Deloitte USA and US Pharmacopeia."

This award not only reflects the soundness of MAREF and Eris' long-term strategies in developing projects that are distinguished for their quality and innovation but ensuring that we remain the first choice property services group.

CEO of Eris Barend de Loor added: "This award demonstrates MAREF and Eris' outstanding successful journey in identifying and investing in premium real estate development projects that contribute to the growth of the African real estate sector, by providing unrivalled services to the customers and fall in line with the highest international standards to optimize the returns of the shareholders, tenants and the investors alike".
